How do you know when you are in love?

wern

I don't think you can tell. Just focus on enjoying all the good feelings you have, and don't bother about trying to understand/label them.

Have you been smitten, Bug?

I always heard that 'you just know' when you're in love and thus, you asking this question means that you are not. But thats just what ive been told. Never ever been in love so i couldnt tell ya. Maybe some married members of CC may be able to, they must have been in love at some point.

I dont see the point in knowing whether you're in love or not. Emotions arent that black and white and you shouldnt worry if you can't label the preconceived emotions that our world came up with.

In other words, listen to Wern.

when all you think about is that special someone. She never leaves your mind and you can't take her out of your mind. This could also be a stalker mentality but who's to judge that

People talk about "love" like it would be some sort of thing You can see and touch, some sort of on/off thingy. Personally, I don't think there is any magical dimension called "love", only different levels of affection, from which the stronger end is called "love". In my opinion, love is the level of affection where You need that person in Your life and feel like You can't live without her (or him). The real "love" as I understand it, comes only after living years in the relationship, when You really start to know the other person on deeper levels than just the physical level that's very present in new relationships. People think they're "in love" when they really enjoy the company of someone, but the real affection that can propably be called "love" is the one that lasts through the normal everyday life for years, with all the ups and downs, and not only a few exciting and creative dates.

Still in love bro 8 years later. And my wife is quite a difficult person. But you know what? Her every movement, thought and plans are almost always about me first and damn the rest of the world. Sometimes I don't give her the same courtesy and it makes me feel bad, but damn I'm still in love with her. In the beginning its just attraction and sex but later its intellect, courage and commitment. So if you find one like that don't let it go.

It's when you resist powerful urges (sexual or otherwise) because you care more about the person and their happiness than doing what makes you feel better. Hence I do my best to workout, work, drink, read, whatever to keep me from bothering my ex about how I feel about her.

I'm sure you've done your best on the highlight... Did you notice that this thread was only 2 and a half years old before you posted your reply?  Amazing is... how on earth you found it?

Haha, I think it was a trawling session one evening that took me deep into CC history. The good knews is I found the Assman thread in the process. The less good news is I started talking about my sad lost love situation. Good with the bad I suppose; hope springs eternal, at least in the generalized abstract sense.

How do you know when you are in love?

When your life seems incomplete and sort of pointless without them.

I'm not 100% happy when my baby isn't with me. (obviously we keep our privacy and personal hobbies too... but, I just like knowing I can be with her whenever)

Steve Madden
19th December 2007, 10:10 PM
It is indeed a nice feeling. Another good indicator of love is if you're an ass for a long time and then she decides to break it off, and then there's a lingering sadness that permeates everything even after the initial ups and downs of the breakup level out. You're a little sad even when you're feeling good, and there's not a whole hell of a lot that you can do but wait it out, make good use of your time, and hope for the best.

Other, happier indicators include butterflies that last past six months or so, feelings of warmth when the person is around, passing up awesome concert tickets so she doesn't spend the night alone (well, I guess that's a little sad), etc.

The feeling when shes says to you....i dont care if you go to strip club on a weekly basis, and ya tonight after we watch the hockey game together naked drinking beer, we can enjoy a nice little round of anal sex! Thats when you know you are in love!

Steve Madden

I prefer the vagina myself, but that notion of watching hockey togethor naked is easily the hottest thing I've heard all day. And I don't even care for hockey! Causal nudity is great when they're hot.

Since my last post in the thread i met a girl and fell in love. Weve been apart for 4 months now and i still think about her all the time. We still speak cos id rather have her in my life as a friend then not at all. Even though it hurts to just see her and not kiss her sometimes. Its hard to ignore her cos we hang with the same people - she cheerleads for my American footy team. Damn i miss her :x

It is the worst possible drug. It burns you and you know it does. As soon as you have it there is nothing but pain. The pain makes you come back for more. Wish there was words to explain it. But there is not. It is like nothing you can feel, good bad awsome awfull. Rage and pleasure all in one.

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
Oh, baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

What is love
Yeah

Oh, I don't know why you're not there
I give you my love, but you don't care
So what is right and what is wrong
Gimme a sign

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

Oh, I don't know, what can I do
What else can I say, it's up to you
I know we're one, just me and you
I can't go on

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh
What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Don't hurt me
Don't hurt me

I want no other, no other lover
This is your life, our time
When we are together, I need you forever
Is it love

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more (oooh, oooh)

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
