View Full Version : My triceps sucks. Tipps and tricks?

Hey hey,

So I looked at myself naked in front of the mirror yesterday and realized my arms look good from the lateral view, but frontal view...well, my arms look thin and not impressive. I know the triceps is bigger than the biceps, therefore I should train my triceps more in order to get a thicker arm in frontal view.

Any exercises to achieve that?

Definitely an easy muscle to train and a great vanity muscle for the beach.
I've been working out 6 days a week all summer and my triceps have exploded. Here are some of my favorite exercises that have gotten me to this point.
-Tricep Dip (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/ASTriDip.html)
-Skull Crusher (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BBLyingTriExtSC.html)
-Tricep Extension (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BBTriExt.html)
And even though I don't like this one... lots of people do... it's the
-Close Grip Bench Press (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BBCloseGripBenchPress.html)

If you don't have access to a gym, the easiest one to do will be the tricep dip, but don't rule out the standard push up either! If you bring your hands in closer together in the push up it targets the triceps more! Look up Diamond Push Ups on youtube for a demonstration of how they are done, they are a push up that targets the triceps instead of the chest.

Also if you want to improve the frontal view I suggest working on your lats, the wider they are the more "filled out" you look.

Well to really give you an answer you can use (instead of just mentioning a bunch of triceps exercises) you can start by writing down your current training routine.
