Well, about 0,25" seems to be the standard, the rest stays. That's the amount the tissue is stretched over its limits by the exercises, and as the tissue heals it retracts to its normall cell length. The part that stays is the size You've already managed to "grow" into by new/healed tissue. That's the way I believe it goes...
