What is the reasoning for the Corpus Spongiosum not getting as hard or full as the Corpora Cavernosa in common erections?

It's really late for me and I'm supposed to be in bed, I just had to check something on my computer and came here out of habit.

I would guess that it has to do with the fact that the spogosium contains the urethra, I'll think about it more tomorrow when I'm more alert, but I wanted to be first.:saint:

Great thread! I'm actually taking a sex class "Human Sexuality Today" for fun in my last semester so this should help sharpen my skills for the exams, which the 1st one is on Thursday.

My professor didn't really cover this area too much, but I believe the Corpus Spongiosum does not get as hard/full as the Corpora Cavernosa because the CS only contains one cyclinder while the CC contains two cyclinders. The CC cyclinders are much larger than the CS cyclinder as well. Thus the CC contain more blood then the CS. Some of the extra room in the CS is also taken up by the urethra which is used for taking a piss and spraying amazing graces of ejaculation.

This is for the common erection, though I believe my professor stated that sometimes, not as common, but there are sometimes 3 layers in the CC or even one rare occasions 1.

So what I was trying to say is the CC will be holding more blood then the CS, that is why the CS is not get as hard/full as the CC.

It must remain pliable so the urethra is free to allow ejaculation through.

Too much pressure closes/narrows the urethra which prevents you from unloading hot man goo on Pepe's mom's face, and what would the point of life be if you couldn't do that?
