OK, it's done. I've moved into my new house and now it's time to begin the fun of unpacking. It's been 3 months of watching this place be built, all the decisons and stress are behind me now. Now it's time for the stress of owning a brand new home and all that goes with it. Maybe in another few weeks and my life can get back to normal. Maybe I'll even start posting more. :cool

I know the builder personally so I don't think that finish issues will be any trouble.

It happens because the house has to "settle" for the first 1-2 years. This is definite for concrete slab construction aswell as for full wood frame construction unless you got really good wood. And then there's still a chance. Happens to all houses. You just have to do a patch job after 2 years.Ask the builder he will confirm. it always happens. just prepare yourself for it.

Im not moving out of my parents house for a while i think. Its cheaper and less hastle. Maybe when i have a bit more money i can share with some friends but not in the next couple of years atleast.
