View Full Version : The 5 Hour Rule - Not What You Think It Is....

I know this will sound controversial to what you believe, and what you hear, but the fact of the matter is:
The 5 hour rule is complete bull.
Boom, plain and simple. For those that don't know what the 5 hour rule is...it's just a general thesis stating not to ejaculate by ANY means for 5 hours pre and post penile exercise.
I've concluded that this is compelte and utter bullshit. You can have sex 10 times a day and it's not going to make your penis shribble up into a tiny microscopic piece of meat. No way. The only thing this was made up for was that it was thought your gains wouldn't hold up if you didn't allow 5 hours in between.
Not so. And you want to know why? Sure you do...that's why you've read this far.
So let's take into account what happens during your penile exercise. You sit there, force blood into the 3 chambers that make up your penis, you stretch it all out and then some of you may get "horny" and some of you may feel like you're going to jizz all over the place. That's fine, it's natural, don't worry about it. If you feel you have to release yourself, do it. If you want to shoot a load in your girlfriend or wife's vagina, do it. Go fuck a sheep, go let your dog lick your balls, it doesn't matter.
All you're doing to your penis is forcing blood up through it and stretching it out. Ejaculating or having an orgasm isn't going to negatively affect it any. What's the reasoning behind the 5 hour rule? To give your penis rest. Plain and simple.
You need rest to "recover"...this is the SAME principal as going to the gym and working out. You don't grow inside the gym, you grow outside of the gym. Same with your penis...you may get an extra "pump" from the increased blood, but ultimately you need to let your penis rest after you exercise it. You need to let the cells recoupe and then the next day you can continue your exercise.
So why wait 5 hours before going at it? You don't have to...it is misconception and it's nonsense. You do not make better or worse gains by waiting 5 hours or anything. This is not theory, this is proven on myself. I managed 3/4" while pounding vag everyday, sometimes within 10 minutes of doing PE. Don't take my word for it...what do I know? I'm just some old fuck, try it yourself. Jizz in your hand and rub it all over your balls, I don't give a shit...just don't be so obsessed with "oh I can't wait 5 hours, it's killing me"...YES I READ THAT IN SOMEONE'S POST. Get the hell over it, the 5 hour rule doesn't do anything except allow for your penis to rest. Which it's going to do anyways right after you bust a nut, and throughout the day/night.
Got it? Good. Thanks.

without getting as emotional as you got in your post, i don't know about you but after i cum i can't for several hours (5 seems like the right number..) to get a decent hardon which means i have to jelq flaccid and it doesn't feel like i'm doing anything after i'm done. about the 5 hours after a workout i agree with you, i also feel that it doesn't do a thing, but the 5 hours before a workout are importent in my opinion.

And actually, doesn't ejaculation release more oxygen in the bloodstream. This in turn would help recovery?
But then again, maybe it hinders your body's anabolic cababilities, if they are needed in building more penile mass. Smooth muscle is muscle nonetheless huh?
I don't know. But I still wouldn't take the 5hrs. rule too seriously, if you need to shoot a load, just shoot.

I read some where that ejaculation doesn't affect your testosterone levels. It was in an article about athletes abstaining from sex before the big game. Old wives tale says that when you fuck all of your man juices get drained, and your focus and competitive edge goes with it.
So the theory goes that because testosterone helps in healing, then when you blow your load, your ability to heal after a work out is reduced. The science that I read totally debunks our 5 hour rule.

i think you're rationalizing something you already made up your mind about. i don't know how your body works but from my experience if i cum and after say 3 hours i want to jelq i can't even get a 70% erection without a hell of alot heli shakes and porn and even then it feels like a shitty workout, but i guess to each his own.

This is completely false. Ejaculation does not have a negative effect on your testosterone levels. Why do you get horny? Because of testosterone/LH. See, if it were true that ejaculating would reduce testosterone, BODYBUILDERS would NEVER have sex, masturbate, or whatever they decide to do to get themselves off. That isn't so....

Nope. I used to adhere to the 5 hour rule. Over years of trial and error, etc. I figured it out. I guess you just have some issues to work out. I can get a full erection within 5-10 minutes after I ejaculate and I'm probably twice your age or more.

oldie, your shit is very well together down there.
I can do that too, and usually when aroused enough, I can keep it up even though I just ejaculated. But then again, the power of youth speaks here. Actually most guys my age can't do shit like that.
A strong BC-muscle helps, and as a PE'er, your dick is in good condition internally.
So just out of curiosity, how long you been PE'ing, what are your starting stats, and where do you stand nowadays?

I reread my post and I didn't articulate myself very well. I was trying to restate the theory, as to facilitate punching holes in it, and when I meant to say "that the science that I recently read debunks the old 5-hour rule. The rule that says that you can't ejaculate 5 hours before or after is just wrong."

You mean PC muscle? I have been PEing on and off since 2002, so 6 years now. I do not quite remember my starting stats. I think somewhere along the lines of 7x5.5 or so. I have been 9x6.5 since last year. I am only doing a maintanence routine. I don't want to be any bigger.

oldie, unless your a woman, it's BC (for bulbocavernosus)
PC stands for pubococcygeus, and that's the muscle women use when doing kegels.
Or was it that both sexes use this muscle, but what men have in addition is the bulbocavernosus, and that's actually what helps us with harder erections and better cumshots.. :mrgreen
Gotta do some research..
edit.
Yes it seems that PC is what both men and women contract while doing kegels, and it's the muscle that helps us with all the good stuff.
The BC is something that just well.. squeezes the last drops of piss out of your urethra. And both sexes have this muscle.
Okay, it is supposed to also aid in erection too. As some of it's fibers are connected to the corpus cavernosa.
Oh oh oh! And wait, it seems to be a muscle that helps you shoot your load too. Hmm..
Well, it wasn't the PC I had mistook it for quite some time to be.
It was because of an thread here at CC, where someone was rambling about kegels and how the PC is actually BC in males.
w3
26th August 2008, 12:15 PM
Okay after furthermore researching, it seems that when we do the kegel's. It is the bulbocavernosus muscle that we are working, we are also working the PC, if anal contradictions are involved with our technique of kegeling.
"Why isn't it the same muscle? Men and women are different. Females have essentially internal sex organs, males essentially external. The PC muscle is located in such a way that it is above and behind the penis and it contracts up into the pelvis. While its action on the rectum may add a little to the pull on the penis, it isn't the main muscle being exercised when men do Kegels. Of course men can contract their PC muscle. They do it every time they have a bowel movement. Some probably contract it while doing the Kegel exercise (by involving the anal area), but it isn't necessary to do so for a stronger penis."

I've never heard my coach/trainors for me to stop having sex.

A friend of mine said that he never jerks off or haves sex right before hitting the gym. Because it his your juices, and really lowers his max on all areas.
I've never trained after sex (nor have I never really hit the gym), always before it, so I wouldn't know.
I believe this is because your muscles relax so much after you shoot your load. There is a lot more oxygen in the blood afterwards.
Anyone else had experience with this?
Has really got nothing to do with PE though, just wondering.

I think the after-affect of masturbation and sex is different. It feels different. Mastubation leaves you feeling light and empty, but after coming in pussy my whole body feels different, like recharged. Dunno why? Maybe sex releases different hormones. ? Maybe oldies recipe for success was daily pussy pounding.?
Man I hope so, cos I'll tell my partner to saddle up after every PE.

I have "shot a load" before and after workout out...never affected me. Having sex before a workout gave me a good testosterone rush. Sex after gave me raging erections due to increased blood flow. Either way...great effects.
w3
29th August 2008, 09:11 PM
I feel the same effect after a workout, or even when I come from taking a long run.
But it somehow makes sense to me that ejaculating before a workout hinders your abilities, but then again, oldie seems to know this shit.
Maybe it's different from person to person.
Michael

Losing a load before a workout makes it hard to maintain a desired erection level.
Still, I did enjoy a suprise 3mm gain in a week of solid fucking 4x a day with very little PE last year.

i heard ejaculating actually raises your testorone, because your gonads work over time to replenish the levels thsu resulting in a higher level then before. but i dont really care and im releived to see someone thinkings its BS like i have alwahys thought.

Sex before a workout is a big no no in my book. I don't know what kind of sex/workouts you guys do but there is no way I could do both of them back to back. Both leave me extremely sweaty and tired. I would rather run 5 miles full speed before weight training then have sex prior to a workout. Fuck all the testosterone bull shit, think about all the calories and energy you are using. Even if it were to cause a sudden increase or decrease in test it wouldn't be enough to change your workout.
As for the 5 hour rule... I don't think it has anything to do with gains but I personally wouldn't jerkoff at all before a pe routine (whether it be 5 or 10 hours). If I do I notice that my erections aren't as strong and my edging sessions seem pointless. The best part of edging is holding back with a full erection wanting to cum so bad. How could you possibly do that if you had an orgasm 30 minutes ago.

Wow, you must have no fucking stamina whatsoever then. I can fuck for 2 hours then hit the gym hard and come out THEN be tired. But fuck then be tired? Come on man.

Are you fucking kidding me? Whackin your willy after PE is just like if you were whackin it normal. It wouldn't cause you to not be able to get an erection for a few days.
You probably did some damage to your penis...worked it too hard or whatever the fuck case.

Did you happen to wack off with sandpaper in your hand?
Either you are jerking it too hard or doing pe too hard. Maybe a little of both. I noticed the only thing that could be bad is frequent rough masterbation/sex + pe. Alone I can't see how it could cause problems though those 3 hours j/o sessions definitely make me penis sad post orgasm lol.

You gotta be over doing it somehow or need something to increase bloodflow. Do you take L-arginine. If not, try it. It work miracles.

I got an idea for you man...buy some LG Science's NO Infuse. Spray about 5 sprays on your penis and watch the magic happen. Transdermal L-Arginine for the win there. Or just get some of the transdermal L-A that diabetes patients use.
