Pretty nerdy actually lol, everyone here plays world of warcraft.

Not nerdy at all... children that play world of warcraft = well behaved, homely children.

This is what happens when world of warcraft servers crash in Hong Kong ---> here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLblhjhxi0c)

Hehe i played world of warcraft for about 2 hours, and then couldnt be assed to keep signing in and out. Just got boring very quickly for me. But i am in the process of playing Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. Its tickling my fancy a little hehe.

44 'lock 45 pally and rogue

metallicarocks05
29th February 2008, 11:53 PM
When I played locks were the shit, the only ones that had a chance against them were rogues, and then the rogue had to know what he was doing. I had a friend with 70 lock that was ridiculous:shock:

JaredK

both have really nice dots locks make ppl run away with them on but rogues keep stunning them and make them wait to be finished off with gouge and kidney shot and if you poisoned the daggers with the crippling poison its all over

This game is a fucking waste of time and money.

I've met more people who fucked up their lives through WoW than drugs.

I'd like to hear to what G-spot has to say about this. You do realise what the gaming industry is worth right?

Dude you sound like a fucking white pride conservatist. Although I agree that everything should be in moderation. And playing games 24/7 is downright wrong. I have to disagree that WoW is a complete waste.

Listen bro. I smoked weed all day every day for a year, yet I still got a 3.75 gpa and held down a job. My friend played wow did no drugs and no drinking, couldn't hold a job got kicked out of school and had a WoW intervention. He also ended up losing 60 lbs by sitting in front of the computer not eating.

He had WoW withdrawls.

Precisely its all about the individual. His ability to take care of his life and doing things at moderation. Don't blame it on the game.

edit: I've had enough with this discussion. I don't want to argue. Its not even worth it.

You show me a sporadic player and I'll show you a guy that sucks. The game is patently designed with an addictive quality of forcing you to play obsessively so that you don't suck. All the little goals just intice you to play more... what's 5 minutes or 5 hours more? Can it become 5 weeks or 5 months quite easily? Yeah.

I played so much nintendo in my life as a kid, but none of it had me drooling over the tv like these kids do on WoW. I never had withdrawal symptoms like these kids do. I also never played for 3 days straight without eating.

I play guitar as well.....i am trying to be safe about playing WOW and also XBOX games. I think anything that makes you use your brain in a strategic way or gives some sort of sense of accomplishment is great but not if you get addicted to that one thing you have to have many things in your life that do that for you

JaredK

i hate those fucking games lol because they allow reg ppl to think they could play instruments without learning. For instance someone who has never played guitar and decides he wants to play an electric guitar for a half an hour is going to have fucked up fingers for the next week.

I never said that I was the wise sage that owns the book of knowledge ad infinitum. I like and play WoW but I have to disagree with what thethreatdown is saying. Only a loser with no life and a lack of sense in reality would engage in something 24/7 without stopping to eat or sleep and ultimately loses a sense of worldy existence. You are judging me because of my age. I wonder who is the immature one barging into a conversation of video games between younger guys and denouncing credibility because someone is 19 and being authorative. Last time I checked being interested in voicing your thoughts in alot of things was'nt illegal.:cool

I think both sides have made some valid points, the game can be very addicting/fun, but it really does all depend on the individual. Some people can prioritize, and say, I'm just going to play when I get my homework done, or only play for a certain amount of time each day, or on the the weekends, etc. Other people can't do that, so it really all boils down to individual choice. To say that the game is horrible because people get addicted to it and make bad choices in their life is like saying fast food places are the reason people are fat. Personal choices are the reason people are fat, not fast food restaurants.

I think Threatdown might really be a "white pride conservatist". The thing that initially tipped me off was his asian girlfriend and lack of interest in literally every single smokin' hot white ass I've posted on these boards.

You can spot those racists bastards everytime.....

As for a serious reply to the issue, I think WoW is pretty nerdy. I have an issue enjoying things like video games in moderation, however, so I generally try to steer clear of them in the interests of making good use of my time.

I find that if I enjoy doing something like playing a game enough to do it with any regularity, it's very easy for it to turn into a three-four hour ordeal. There are other things I'd rather do with my life, and since I know what will happen if I turn it on, I just try and do things that I'll enjoy and for which I might have something to show (if nothing other than a sense of accomplishmrnt or productivity) afterwards.

My uncle is one of these obsessed with this game type. He's a fairly normal guy, successful carpenter, father of two, but as soon as he comes in the dooor he plugs into his damned computers (plural; he got two so he could play WoW as two characters or some crazy shit like that) and stays on there all evening every evening. It's such that at family affairs, which is about the only time I see him anymore, his conversation of choice is WoW (which doesn't surprise anyone anymore because 1. He's wearing a WoW hat and 2. It's all he every talks about). I hate to see this guy wasting his life and it's given me an overall poor opinion of online gaming and the way it's come to dominate so many peoples' lives.

That said Jared, obviously if you can play and do it in moderation then have at it. I'd just ask myself is there not something you'd rather be doing with your time; something you'd enjoy just as much and perhaps have something to show for when you're done (like for example of endorphine bath after some good old fashioned pumping; either of the girl or weightroom varity). I've found that engaging in activities that are authentically "life" to be more exhilarating and fulfilling than any man-made subsitutes, like videos games or the internet, for example. Just be sure that when you're seventy you won't look back wishing you'd spent more time having sex or breathing fresh air and less time planted in front of some screen. And be sure to enjoy yourself either way.
Just my opinion.

That's pretty much why I quit playing games, cuz I get carried away with them, and decided there was more to life than that, so here I am, hanging weights from my dick trying to make it grow:lol:

I used to play WOW hardcore, but then decided I'd rather do more important things with my life like get laid and get a good job. The problem with games like WOW is they require you to put in rediculously large amounts of time to get anywhere in the game.

Its just a game. If you play it like that then theres nothing nerdy about it at all.

Its when it starts to take over your life it becomes nerdy (which it will do if you dont have a strong social life).

Thank you also. It's addictive because of the lvl system, its instant gratification, better lvl=better stuff, more stuff to do,more ppl to play with, richer (gold in game) high of a plan coming together and dominance basically intellectual strain ive worked out through my life so this brings a bit of balance but i would like to build up my blues chops on the guitar now.
