I'm always researching concepts whenever I become interested. Lately it's been detoxification and organic foods. But one thing that has always interested me was the theory of relativity and time travel. I have been looking at the theory of relativity for years now and I still can't seem to fully grasp it. And It is my understanding that only a few people on earth can TRULY understand it.

However, I am a "God fearing Guy"(if you will) and have a strong spiritual/metaphysical/energy based belief system, so I have a specific direction when it comes to my opinion. But regardless, I really enjoy reading about the concepts of Time travel and the ideas of reaching the speed of light-travel. It is my understanding that we must understand and utilize the existence of anit-matter and anti-particles????

It is my contention, though, that once we understand the existence of such anti-matter, that we will have enlightened ourselves past THIS "Plane" of existence and therefore pass on to the next plane. The "Celestine Prophecy" may be similar to what I am talking about. And if so, we will have acheived an existence where the concepts of space and time are no longer applicable.

The anti-matter is at the heart of it all, but the fact is, I don't really understand what the scientists are talking about when they use these terms. Now, i don't expect that there are many scientists here that know precisely how to explain the concept of anit-matter to me or the concept of relativity for that matter. but I just wanted to bring up the subject to see what your thoughts are....

i have a PDF that discusses it that I have yet to read, but i'm sure someone here has looked into it and I would like to hear your comments.

There is a lot of talk about bending space and not actually "Moving" at all. Hmmm, discussion of this without the use of Star Trek references would be appreciated.

By the way, i finished my thesis on Media and Humans entitled "Caught in The Loop" if anyone is interested in reading it. It's a 17 page Word document if you are interested...Blah blah blah.

Not sure exactly what you've been reading but isn't anti-matter just ordinary matter with opposite voltage/polarity/spin........... so never the two can meet.

Or if they do there's a massive release of energy which might be useful for bending space and creating worms holes.

Interesting concepts. The challenge is to find a good book that doesn't get too much into the mathematical physics side of things. A great book that I read, albeit not exclusively on quantum physics, was called «Grammatical Man: Information, Entropy, Language and Life» by Jeremy Campbell. It is a look at how «information», which may appear random, can be found to be ordered in crazy ways. Information may mean anything from genetic code, the role of the dice, language, the movement of molecules, secret codes, computers, books. A very worthwhile read.

Spike got it right. Antimatter is a particle of regular matter with its electrical charge reversed. The common proton has an antimatter counterpart called the antiproton. It has the same mass but an opposite charge. The electron's counterpart is called a positron, but positrons don't last long. When they hit an electron, they annihilate and produce energy. Antimatter particles are created in ultra high-speed collisions, for example in particle accelerators and in intense environments like stars.

OK, so it looks like i'm gonna have to read deeper on the anit-matter subject, because I thought it was theoretical, and thus, immeasurable. Apprently not.

Alright, so the release of energy in some particle accelerator could possibly allow the ability to bend space? Please elaborate on how that would be done. Cause if were talking about bending "space" as in bending a vaccuum, then we're talking about bending "Nothing."

The anti-matter subject is sort of sci-fi because it is almost impossible to prove or see but then again it definately is there. Energy to matter... matter to energy. No, particle accelerators can't "bend space", the amount of energy released in them is very small, next to nothing.

About "bending space", that's an area I haven't studied much. The way I understand it, to bend time-space there must be ultra strong gravity for any "time-space" -bending to happen. Distances are measured by light years... light travels in straight line, meaning time and distance are then sort of on a plane. Light beams can bend around gravity fields, for example a star behind our sun can be seen next to it because the light beams are bent by the gravity of the sun. Black holes bend the light so strongly that light can't escape the gravity field -> black. That's about all I can tell You now, I must do some research to tell You more. I haven't been too interested in time travel and worm holes myself because they're too far away our present time and possibilities.

I read a book a while back how to build a time machine

Could be by this guy http://www.penguin.co.uk/nf/Author/AuthorPage/0,,0_1000008399,00.html?sym=QUE

I'll have a look around for it. But it explained it all in fairly simple terms how to make some negative energy, make some wormholes and bend space.

*wide eyed spaced blank look*

you know that falling feeling you can get when you look upwards at clouds or tall trees and you feel like youre falling..? thats me right now. heh.

string theory anyone?

this stuff is so complex to get my head around.

string theory anyone?

THAT is some interesting stuff.

i believe that time and the universe are interconected but i also believe that the bridge between them can never be connected. it must not be tempered for the results will be worse than 100 nuclear explosions. same philisophy as the chaos theory.

I was looking into String theory a few months back. I REALLy like it, but once again, a very complex subject that can easily confuse when viewing too many sources.

arent there like the equivalent of millions of nuclear explosions going off all the time in star nurseries and such?
those space images just blow my mind-theyre so big and vast and so much energy going on its incredible.

Space with all its wonders and forces feels and seems amazing because we know so little about it and we're so damn little ourselves.

its one of my little goals in life to see some of our galaxy through a decent telescope (i dont have ne and im not the kind of person to have one. besides london is too light polluted..maybe in Aus eh?)
i might freak- but itd be exciting in a way.

Join a local astronomy group, they usually have good quality observatories You can use for free as a member.

Can a mod/admins find the thread 'Time Travel' that will help alot but can't find it. :x
