View Full Version : Jelquing Questions - Seeing Results?

I've been jelquing for two weeks now ( Got information on how from http://thechillspot.tripod.com/jelqing.html , and I found this forum when I came across this thread while trying to find video instruction to make sure I was doing it right http://www.cheekycherry.com/ccforums/showthread.php?t=30 ), doing it in the morning after the morning wood goes down, taking the thumb and forefinger of both hands, forefingers going for the bottom and thumbs on top, doing 200 strokes base-to-mid, then 200 strokes mid-to-head. (Went to 250 this morning)
I'm trying to make sure that I'm doing it right. When I start I'm mostly flaccid, and it feels like I'm pushing it outward with blood, but a while into it the "center" starts to get kind of hard, like an erection, but still somewhat flexible.
I go straight from the first part to the second part without waiting to go back down to the mostly flaccid state, as I figure part of the point is to use the blood already pushed up to push further.
When I'm done, most of the time - but not all the time - I've got a significantly enlarged flaccid state, but if I were to get an erection after that, it's no bigger. Furthermore, this enlarged flaccid state is temporary.
I assume it's a sign that I'm doing it right, but I'm not sure because the erect state after the jelquing session isn't any bigger. The tripod site says not seeing results until the second or third month is normal, but then how can you tell if its working or not until you've been doing it for three months and aren't seeing results?
It'd be a waste of time to do it one way for three months, then after not seeing any sort of change in size, realize you've been doing it wrong.
However, I am getting that temporary increase (less than a half hour) in size in the flaccid state after jelquing.
Ultimately, my question is, is there any way to tell that you're doing it right besides waiting for the results after three months of doing it? I'm sure jelquing works, I'm just not sure I'm doing it right, though I probably am.
Is that temporary increased flaccid state an example of this, or something else? Does that typically happen? Is it good or bad?

First off, welcome to CC!!
I have just began PE as well and would love to see the opinions of others on this.
I am doing my jelqs exactly the same, though I am at a 70-80% erection level, meaning my penis is still flexible though you can feel it pulling/stretching when you move it around (dont really know how to explain it). Also before each jelq I do a kegel forcing more blood into the penis.
Are you doing welt jelqs or dry jelqs? As a beginner I am following Thought Pro's/Assman's newb routines, and I also read all the beginner stickies and watched the videos. After my workouts my penis is meatier, though like you it only lasts about 30 minutes before it goes back to original. My penis also turtles constantly, though I am also battling a weight issue which could be the reason for some of this.
Well, in any case this is a bump to get some more advanced advice.
Good luck bro!!

I'm dry jelquing.
And when I'm done, I'm not really sore - like I could do more reps if I wanted to even though the workout says 500+ on the third week or later.
Also, when doing dry jelquing, would you count each towards the total? IE, 250 base-mid, 250 mid-head would be 250 Jelqs, or 500?
I doubt I'm overdoing it, but that question just occured to me as well.

Drys are supposed to be done mostly erect.
Newbies should do 150 base to mid, 150 mid to head if drys are all you're doing.
Wets are mostly done flaccid.

Yeah, dry's need to be 80 percent erect or above to be effective. I suggest you do wets more though. I had a bad experience with dry's that had blood on my hands. Wets should be done 50 to 80 percent erect though. Welcome to CC. If you need more answered, feel free to ask.

Wets are mostly done flaccid.
Yeah, I thought from reading here wets are to be done 60-80% erection, not flaccid ...

Wets are not done flaccid, if they are they're called losing your grip stetches. I jelq at or around 70-80 percent, sometimes more, though it's important to know your limits doing it this way. I find myself adjusting the pressure of my grip throughout the movement depending on how intense it feels; you don't want to burst anything as it can easily ruin a workout and obviously can have even worse implications. Get a pump, that's the most important thing.

When doing jelqs the wetter and softer you are the more you are leaning over length.

What I'm hearing is helpful - the other site said to avoid doing jelqs erect to avoid vascular damage. I can tell that if something hurts --> stop doing it, but I was worried about doing some sort of damage that I wouldn't be able to tell until it was too late.
Above all else, major questions still unanswered are
1) Is that temporarily enlarged flaccid state a good thing/sign it's being done right, or does it mean something else? If so, what?
2) Are there any immediate signs that you're doing it right, if so, what are they?
3) Should I be taking a break between doing the base-to-mid then mid-to-top to let blood flow resettle, or not?

The flaccid hang is naturally a positive sign, though often temporary. What you want is a long term hang, which will take a longer time to develope (also don't forget the role of good blood flow in flaccid hang as well as erection quality and overall penile health; don't neglect those kegels!).
Generally speaking, the rule is if it feels good, it probably is good. Does the meaty hanger after a good session feel good? It does to me. Do (careful!) jelqs at relatively high erection levels feel good? When done properly, in my experience they feel great. Running low on lube and stretching the skin or accidentally forcing too much blood up and straining something does not feel good, and it's not. PE'ing with max safety and efficiency is an art, and it takes some time to learn to walk the line between too much and too little (volume, intensity, erection level, whatever). That's why the kind folks here will advise you to take it easy and build up these factors; it's much better to underwork a few times as you learn your body's response than to overwork all at once and put yourself out of commission for who knows how long.
As for immediate signs, it's going to take some time to learn what they are for you. I've found that in order to recognize a great session, you may have to experience a session or two that are not so great (not fulfilling, don't feel productive, whatever). Chances are, eventuallly you will have a session that for whatever reason does not go your way. Maybe you were tired, rushed, unmotivated, who knows. Conversely, you will (hopefully often) have sessions that leave you feeling fantastic, motivated, and well on your way to attaining the size you want. If you're consistant with your practice, the latter will occur more and more often, with the result that you will come to look foward to your PE sessions rather than simply getting through them.
Size gains do take time, but in the short run you can expect to see things such as a meatier hanger (this will come and go; don't fixate on it or get discouraged when one day it's not as impressive as the next...it happens), harder erections, and an overall different "feel" to the penile tissue. My erections now just feel different, like the composition of my penis has changed to a sort of plumper state. This is independent of size gains, and my girlfriend has remarked that my penis looked/felt larger when I hadn't recorded any size gains, purely as the result of this change in "composition". As I often say, regular use of an IR lamp has been instrumental is my attaining this; I strongly suggest you look into getting one.
Please keep in mind that these things can take some time. There isn't some trial period where you put in work and get no results, but there is a period of time where you adjust to the exercises, learn what works for you and how, and it's during this time that it's important to stick it out and remain motivated. Once you get your technique down (there is no text book solution here; beyond the very basics I'm convinced that it is a highly personal matter that only you can determine for yourself) the improvements (both in the forms of size and the other factors mentioned above) will be fast and furious. Except your penis as it is now, and commit to yourself to keep up with PE until you improve it to your ideal state.
Good luck and we're always here to help out.

I thought flaccid wets were the best thing to do for length only besides stretching.
I did them at around 30% if anything. Probably don't listen to me though cause I'm not a length guy.

Thankye Steve, that was helpful - I do notice a certain different feel of tissue. Good to know I'm on the right track. There's also a different sensation - not exciting, almost like a sort of warm numbness, but it does feel good.
Edit w/ Bump - Today was the end of the third week, and there's something else of note: About 3/4th toward the head, there's always been an area between there and the head that's a bit more tan than the lower area of the shaft. Today, however, I also noticed there's now a very thin area - about a tenth or fifth of an inch or so - that's paler. Also, now that its shrunken up a bit, there's slightly more girthth at that end - not solid girth, but almost a small collection of skin. I'd assume this would be some sort of first signs of permanant growth, but would the coloring continue like that?
Having a striped penis would be rather odd. :mrgreen

Don't pay too much attention to miniscule details if you can help it. Growth takes time, and in the interim there will be a lot of back and forths with flacid size, coloration, etc. and paying too much attention to this can be discouraging (ie thinking something is permanent growth and then seeing it go away a week or a day later).
The best thing to do is stick to the routine and just be on the lookout for signs of trouble, ie pain, stark discoloration that persists a long time, etc. I'm not telling you not to note changes in your penis, just don't get obsessed. It's a lot like muscular training; some days your extra toned/swollen/ripped, other days it seems like you've gone to pudge. These are natural fluctations and don't always have a bearing on your overall progress.
Keep up the good work.

Oh, in case you haven't been doing kegels (or even if you have), check out Wern's Kegeling Thread. It's a must read and will do as much for your sexual wellbeing as any other PE movement.
