tuna is hard to choke down- sometimes i put it in the blender. its a savoury drink what can i say?
not great but it beats the hell outa chewing for hours.
i know some people mix tuna with OJ cos the vitc C helps absorb the protein or something. i used to take a bite of tuna then a swig of OJ. ect.

except i hate the bloated stomach after.
actually ice cream, real icecream is so rich its hard to eat loads. normal icecream is just obviously sugar water.
i saw real icecream made on tv once from like victorian times-this very well off building where they had an "ice cellar" and real cream, sugar, eggs, strawberries, vanilla too i think was used, some long task.

if i was a chef or rich or was at home still wih a different family to my own i grew up with (i.e different circumstances) i might eat so much... jeez there was this programme on tv here about this mother who would feed her teenage sons food so much and so foten they were obese and sick.. she would feed them rich food and junk too, waking them up in the middle of the night to eat too.
the thing with fat kids though is that i notoce they normally get tall, or rather they get to be about as tall as they could genetically get (or so it seems).
better to have balance though obviously.

i have some sugar, eggs, and about 500gm of corn flour.
can i make something with that?
im hearing mushrooms can bring flavour to savoury food (i dont ike onions or garlic)
i have this chinese cook book and whenever i look through it i feel like makig lots of stuff, but mostly i regret eating it cos usually its not healthy stuff.
im craving high caoie stuff, cakes, chocolate cakes with cream ect.

bananas are great. but if i have 2-3 bananas without protein i usually get that messed up energy drop thing.
but yeah, i buy lots of bananas.
partly thats it aswell-when im hungry i want to eat IMMEDIAETLY, if i wait to cook for an hour , half an hour my energy drops and im exhausted and stressed for the whole day even when i finally do eat.
im thinking of eating half junk in my diet cos im sick of restricting myself and ending up bored.

Cream of Mushroom Soup
500g (1lb) fresh mushrooms
1 tabsp chopped parsley seasoning
25g (1oz) plain flour
25g (1oz) butter
500ml (1pt) chicken stock
500ml (1pt) milk
1 tabsp lemon juice
parsley to garnish
Method
· Melt the butter in a large saucepan and the mushrooms and saute until soft.
· Add the flour and cook for 1 minute slowly blend in the stock, bring to the boil. Season lightly, and simmer for 10 minutes ,
· Remove from the heat blend and stir in lemon juice. Serve garnished with parsley.
Serves 4 - 6
That's about 2500 cals and about £2.00. While you're at Asda look for the plastic things you put stuff in and freeze. Then when you're peckish just get one out and microwave it.
If you haven't got a blender just grate the mushrooms or chop them really good.
If you don't like butter, use olive oil.
Basically improvise - you'll have to if you're going to be a woodsman out in the wilds.
Even soups with onion/garlic in you'll never taste it (unless it's Garlic with Onion soup).

Spike
16th May 2005, 09:52 PM
Yeah, it started a couple of months ago when the local Asda went 24 hour and I was ambling round at midnight. Instead of just dashing round getting the usual stuff I was looking what was on the shelves and picked up a pack of soup & broth mix (lentils, pearl barley etc) and there was a recipe for Minestrone on the side, so I went back round getting the rest of the ingredients.
Sticking to the common ones is a good place to start - tomato, mushroom, etc.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
3 stalks of celery, finely chopped
1 carrot, shredded
4 tomatoes, chopped or 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crumbled (or dried)
3 cups of vegetable or chicken stock
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat the oil in a large pot and saute the onion, celery, and carrots until vegetables are tender.
2. Add the tomatoes and basil. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes are softened.
3. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and carefully blend until smooth. (Caution! Hot liquids create steam which will blow the top off the blender! Be sure to securely hold blender lid down!)
4. Return pureed mixture to cooking pot and combine with the stock. Simmer, uncovered, until soup is reduced to the desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Makes 4 servings.
I tossed in some Worcester sauce, a splash of lemon juice, some tomato purée and a clove of garlic too. Turned out well. Asda do there own range of chopped tomato in tins for 17p.

16th May 2005, 09:59 PM
cool, i shop at asda anyway.
im going to write the ingredients down and actually make some this week. but i dont drink milk so i`ll use water or more stock.
you think its best to get fresh parsley/ basil? or like dried stuff?
and yeah, i got a blender. warning taken on the heated stuff in the blender.
being ill i really was in soup mood-but not tinned stuff.
ive made "concoctions" but not true soup- they always ended up as some kind of thick stew. but ive never made regular soup.
