Most people, unless theyre a chelsea fan wanted liverpool. Every Brit loves the underdog. Chelsea wern't their best but taking nothing away from Liverpool, they defended brilliantly! Well done the Reds!

Very controversial goal, there wasn't a single camera from which a good image of the goal line could be seeing at the point where the Chelsea defender kicked the ball out.

If it wasnt a goal then it should have been a penalty with the keeper sent off. If you ask me, Chelsea got off lightly to have the goal given against them. Oh and yes, AC will win.

ac have got probably the best defence in europe maldini, nesta, stam etc.
and the best striker shevkenco there are probably only two others as good as him henry and ronaldinio but liverpool still have a chance because it is only one match if it was two legs liverpool would have no change

You missed out Ronaldo. Tell you what, Chelsea should have bought some decent strickers like the few mentioned. I dont rate Drogba or Kezman(sp?) at all.

kezmen is toilet paper to ronaldinio drogba not bad he's really fast and good in the air something you never see but you could tell he had an injury nah i think ronaldo has seen his best days but he's still good but missers too many chances for mine

I must say, if Liverpool play as bad as they did against Chelsea they don't stand a chance against Milan. They just couldn't find the ball in the second half, appalling.

They talked about Liverpool on American sports talk radio! It must really be big news for that to happen!
My one question is: we know how much it takes to buy the Premiership, but how much does the Champions League cost?
So much for Milan's stingy defense. They conceded 3 goals to PSV. Very exciting ending though with a couple of goals within minutes. Based on that, L'pool will get destroyed. Only SOMETIMES does a spoiler tactic work at the highest level. Against quality opposition, who will just patiently keep on trying, until they get a goal. Then the spoiler tactics are fucked and they have to try.

i watched all the semifinal matches and the reasons why milan did so badly is they always play bably againest lesser opposition in the seria A this year they have beaten all the good teams juve, inter etc. but have lost to lesser teams livorno and siena.
this is as poor as milan has played all year in the champions leauge in there other matches they breesed past man u and inter. not to mention they sad back and defended (stupid tactic) and that they could hardly put two passes together. and we still made it through what this shows is that milan can play the
worst and still come through alright

Don't rule Liverpool out.
AC Milan didn't look so hot last night, their strikers were terrible - including the some might say godlike shevchenko.

mate did you watch the game or what he was the lone stricker and was getting the crappiest balls if he had one decend chance he would have put it in the back of the net. i never said he was godlike he is one of the best though.
but liverpool still have a chance because it is only one match
i not ruling liverpool out
Too bad for PSV. I thought they played well. It is ominous for the final though. Liverpool's 90 min defensive program, negative football from Milan... but of course Greece won the World Cup with a similar style. It's a funny old game... some you get, some you don't. Chelsea had good luck all season, but it ran out last Tuesday. :D

So is it safe to say that the English Premier League is the top league in Europe? Or is the consensus still that the Spanish League or Serie A are better?
Just curious. Because we don't get much coverage of any of them over here. :(
Certainly, the Spaniards and Italians think they have the best leagues and play the best football. But that is also a question of how you like the sport to be played. English football is more agressive and physical. People used to criticise it for just that and praise the euro-style for being more about skill and technique. But with the arrival of many European coaches in England (ie Wenger, Benitez, and (spit) Morinho) there is more and more a blending of the two cultures. Looking at most top-flight teams, they are filled with international players, which is in itself a testament to the increasing draw of the English game.
Plus Spaniards and Italians are flagrant divers and "simulators" which in some cases has been imported to the UK as well.

italian calcio/football/soccer as we call it over here in oz. the seria a was easily the best comp in the early 90ties from 1998 to 2000 england had it down but since than the spain is where it's at

yes some are but the majority are not, did you see maldini the other night he
he got his head nearly taken off by a challange he could have pulled out from but he didn't

this was some years ago now.

I told ya Maldini's past it! A goal then he played shit! What a game! Though i was apprehensive about the penalty shootout as everyone knows what England are like at them. Well, i suppose Liverpool only constisted of 2 Englishmen, no of whom took a penalty (though Gerrard probably wouldve stepped up last).

AC gave the match to liverpool and liverpool nearly gave it back to ac
that wasn't a penalty, gerread dived. if the fucking referee was closer he would have seen it (the linesman saw it). you could tell that the referee knew he had made a mistake when soon after when he handed out 2 yellow cards to liverpool players that weren't really there. that's what pisses me off when something like that happens. i would have wanted liverpool to score in open/normal play like the first one. at least then we weren't robbed and were beaten fair and square.
that's what shits me if the ref actually saw the incident he would have seen gerread dive and we would have won

Sour grapes mate. If AC won you wouldnt be complaining about a dive or anything.
