OK, it doesn't happen every time, but starting today, when I type something in the address bar, it ends up saying it isn't available. It gives me one of those gay ass domain for sale sites. Now, these sites work all the time when I go to them, but today they've been screwing up. Some even give me a cannot display page, and the URL is really long. Down at the bottom of IE, where it usually has the progress bar and shit, say I put in forum.bodybuilding.com it will end up going through several sites. It will put in forum.bodybuilding.com.com, forum.bodybuilding.com.edu, forum.bodybuilding.com.gov, etc. etc. You're not supposed to have a www. before it. And on some websites that do have a www. it ends up taking me to some fucked up shit like www.www.www.com.com. What the hell is going on!? I scanned my computer for viruses with Norton and House Call at Trendmicro. What the fuck?? I cleared all of my cookies, temp, and history...even took off the system restore and put it back on, and it STILL does it. Does anyone get this, and does anyone know what the hell it is, and finally, does anyone know how to get rid of it?????

I haven't ever experienced this problem myself so this is a general solution. Without being at your computer I wouldn't know what else can be done
firstly, go and upgrade internet explorer to latest version,
then go to Tools -> Internet Options
Then go to the Programs tab
Theres a button towards the bottom titled "Reset Web Settings" - click that

Why are you using piece-of-shit IE? Get Firefox - http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Next get AdAware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Then SpyBot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
And a new toy I've been using - CrapCleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com/
They're all free and work.

Cleans all the crap from the registry, temp files, stuff that didn't uninstall 100% (most things).
Try it and see. Usually the first run frees up 300 or 400mb.

Yes, I am still running IE. I had Firefox at one time, but some features couldn't be seen with it or whatever. I have AdAware AND Spybot, and they didn't get rid of the problem. Norton says that there are 2 adware threats or something...from Adware.Ndot or some shit. I can't remember. It was like NDuninstall4_83 or some shit...can't remember the file. Then another with the same name, except it said 6_32 or something. Anyways, I went into Windows folder and deleted those two bastards since Norton's gay shit couldn't delete it. I guess it's fixed now...it hasn't screwed up so far, but who knows. I'll get the asswipe cleaner...

You have a trojan or something Oldie. Some kind of virus or something that is redirecting you to those sites. My advice would be to go to microsoft.com and download there malicious detection program. Run that, run spybot at start up, and if that still doesn't work just start using Firefox because your IE is fuuucked.

Have you looked what's in your startup? Something is adding .org automatically.
Start->run then type msconfig and go to the startup tab, there should only be 5 or 6 things in there and have obvious names.
Type any name into Google and see what they are. A load of genuine stuff can be knobbled, they don't need to start automatically.
After a reboot, look and see if something has re-enabled itself - cheeky malware tends to do that.

But virus scans show nothing.
Virus scanners don't necessarily show spyware, You'll need another program to detect them, like Spybot (works fine for me).

perhaps you should try resetting internet settings. It may be that you have a screwed up search system as that is the way websites are found.

I believe it's a shitload of spyware. Download Spybot search&destroy somewhere, update it and run it, it should be able to fix all the unwanted shit in Your system without messing it up. After that, set it up so that it automatically blocks all spyware, and remember to update the database every now and then.

SpyBot, AdAware, and CCleaner have all been run....didn't fix it.

Did You update the latest database before running Spybot? It can be that Your system is too badly infected, and the only sure way of fixing it is formatting Your hd and installing everything again. But, I'm not a real geek so You should listen to them first before doing anything that radical.
