So today I went shopping for a basic stereo amplifier and quess what? Basicly, those things have turned into collectors items. Its very rare to find one. And if you find one they cost three times as much as they did 5 years ago. So I have basicly two options: Buy a surround set, including 6 crappy, under par, speakers. Or a micro/midi system, those things that look like they're taken out of a Startrek spaceship. BLEH!!!

Richer Sounds (http://ws3.richersounds.com/productlist.php?cda=productlist&sgroup=AMPLIFIERS&sort=price) is one of the few places I can think of in the UK - not much use for the EuroBrothers but the model numbers might help in a Dutch Google.

Most stereo amps are now purely for hi-fi nuts.

Would active speakers solve your problem?

I need a pre-amp plus poweramp so active speakers arent an option. Also because I already have 2 nice quality speakers.
5 years ago a friend of mine bought a stereo amplifier for about 90-100 Euros. Now the price isnt much lower then 200 Euros, and with the vacation coming, my budget is limited.
Damn, I even considered buying a car radio because of the great Power vs. Price ratio!! :lol:
