Well, the grass is turning green and a young man's fancy turns to ....


football :D (or soccer) as our outdoor season in Canada is soon to begin. Usually, I just show up when my team of old farts begins practising (which is usually 1 week before our first game). I've been doing a bit of research on training but was wondering if any of you guys have experience with endurance training (no, I don't mean having a long, long wank or pumping your girl for 5 days)? What kind of routine, types of excercises?

I play football for Purdue.....I'ma frosh, but I've been training my entire life, what do yuo want to know. Be specific.

What would be a good type of endurance routine? I've heard that generally I need to mix up light running with sprinting but it would be nice to know more details like what distances to start with, frequency, what rate to increase. This is all for soccer so, it's mostly a running game at this point.
