Music is music. I don't judge a song by it's artist.

Music is music.
But the DJ Format sampler kicks all kinds of ass upside down and left to right.

Don't lecture me on assumptions, you followed my jokey response with:
"Another dude who thinks all mainstream music sucks ass."

Anyone who thinks ALL mainstream music is "shit" is kidding themselves.
i cannot stand that mentality.
OneMoreRep

a few people i know are like that... just to act "gangsta"
Godma
9th April 2005, 11:20 PM
Surely a better way to act gangster would be to rim all the black guys who rap about shooting. I know, that's a generalisation - but generally speaking, there's a lot of them and a lot of silly wankers who love 'em! :P
Godma

Although that's not to say some of it is really catchy stuff.

rappers in general put on the tough guy mentality. they are all "street".
don't get me wrong some are. but i think ALOT of them embellish.

DJ format is the shit. Godma, what is this sampler you speak of? The only song I really have by him is We Know Something with Chalie 2na and Akil.
Godma
12th April 2005, 12:52 PM
If you like Format, I'm your man for recommendations.
The sampler is 15 minutes long and contains stuff from his 1st album Music for the Mature B-Boy. You'll have to get it P2P tho.
Yeah, check that album out - it's a classic. Also, there's A Right Earful, his 2nd album, which is pretty good too.
We know something you don't know is a great track with the J5 contribution, but
you should definitely look into The Hit Song and Vicious Battle Raps with rapping by Abdominal.
I've seen Format/Abs live and they kick ass all over the place - Abs, at one point, inhaled some helium from a balloon and rapped at supersonic speed (check Vicious Battle Raps). Good shit!
