This is mostly directed to magnum since he trains a lot but if any others are experienced feel free to respond
whats your favorite finishing move, your favorite counter, Fav position, you like pulling guard or goin for takedowns more wrestling styles i havent trained in a while cuz i broke my foot so im like depressed haha.
My favorite is triangle and if i cant lock it transition to arm bar, although ive figured out this sick ass sweep/ reversal where once you have the triangle you turn to one side and put ur hand down and push up real hard it makes the the guy fall over and you end up mounted triangle its hard to explain here lol.
I like pulling guard more cuz my take downs SUCKK never drilled them hard, but i actually end up on top more. And im probably the best at holding hte back position once i get it i usualy finish lol. Another big problem that ive always had is drilling the same moves on the left side i have never been able to sucessfully do this i feel like a fucking moron and uncordinated how are you with that?

well my favorite moves are the triangle choke, rear naked choke and armbar from sidemount. i train under one of the very select few american black belts under royce so he knows just about every move you could ever think of. i remember the first time he taught me the triangle choke i was tappin blue belts straight from brazil, it was nuts. lately i have been working on omoplatas and armbars from guard. when i start a match however, i usually pull guard and work open guard from there on. i got a sick arsenal of sweeps and foot locks from open guard, not to mention aggresive triangle chokes and bicep slices. brown belts at my academy still have a hard time passing my open guard, so i suppose im doing something right.
btw: what belt rank are you ownd? may i expect to see you at the pan ams? :D

My fave move is the eye close head hit floor technique.
I usually finish off with the "where am I, are you a doctor?" move.

Ive found though that alot of high street stores sell clothes just as nice as designer clothes for half the price, in the UK theres Topman, River Island, H&M etc where i do most of my shopping. Ive got a few expensive designer items but im a student so im poor. Most expensive pair of jeans - £80 Deisel, most expensive jumper - £60 Ted Baker, underwear - £20 CK's, t-shirt - £40 Tom Wolfe. I was only joking and I hope You didn't get offended. My closet is full of expensive clothes because my ex wife thought they're essential for survival. Now, after trying to find my "true self" after the divorce I've learned to value other things in life over the material stuff. I still do buy some expensive stuff occasionally on my weak moments, but it isn't too important to me anymore. I still value good quality and that doesn't usually come cheap, but I'm buying quality stuff only for the good materials and durability, not to show off with expensive brands (I never did). I usually buy the stuff with no visible logos, so I can enjoy the quality without giving the annoying impression of showing off with them. Clothes don't make a man, they only keep him warm.

Indeed, ive always tried my best to look good and if that means spending some extra cash then i dont mind too much. Most of my clothes dont have logos on and you can look good without splashing out too much but it does help in getting females and 'fitting in' with friends etc when you try. May sound shallow and materialistic but its easier and gives me confidence and stuff. Its the old debate of whats expected of you by society but it doesnt really bother me being like everyone else (although i am the most stylish out of my group of friends :cool )

Nice clothes do give some confidence, and it's better to be a bit over dressed rather than to be the forest hermit of the party.
We're off topic big time so back to Jiu Jitsu now!

At what age did you get married?
From what you told about her she seems like a person who values the wrong things. Did that come later on or was she always like that?
BTW: I'm not saying she is a bad person otherwise you wouldnt have married her.
Bobo
3rd February 2006, 02:55 PM
I was 23 and she was 20 when we got married, but we had been living together for two years already then.
She wasn't always that shallow and she turned that way as we advanced on our careers and studies. I guess she thought we're better than the rest of the population after some success we both had. The conflict between our personalities was the biggest reason for our divorce. For a few years she managed to brainwash me to her snobby habits but after a while I got allergic to the mold she had squeezed me into and I wanted to return to what I used to be.
I admire her intellect and I'm sure she will get far in life careerwise (she's cold enough for that these days), but will she find another "Ken-doll" to dress up as her status symbol? Well, I hope me divorcing her opened her eyes and she'll find that warm side of her personality again, otherwise she will never be happy.
Valk

I know it's a hard question to answer but try anyways..
Bobo

At the moment: no, I don't think so. But never say never, I just might meet someone special tomorrow and everything changes... but I doubt it very much. One thing is for sure: it must feel right all the way from the beginning. Before my first marriage I had strong doubts about our future together and got married because my wife kept breathing down my neck about it. "Why won't You marry me, don't You love me?"... I married her because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. Well, I did love her but for some reason it just didn't feel right. Next time I will follow my intuition or I might end up wasting more years being unhappy. Many people waste their whole lives looking for "the one" while it is possible to be happy alone too.
Valk
4th February 2006, 10:40 AM
Well, you can be happy with a partner without marriage, but try telling that to her.
Shane_Bos
4th February 2006, 11:18 AM
There is no, 'the one', in my opinion. Some people are just well suited to others. This is why you get affairs as although you love someone, you may meet someone else who you are better suited to. This happens especially because of people changing, like in your case Bobo and im sure most other divorcee's out there. You can argue that loving someone would prevent the affair in the first place but im not here to debate this, just to express my opinion on, 'the one'.
Bobo
4th February 2006, 11:29 AM
I believe that way too, no "the ones" out there. People are always looking for the easy way out and finding "the one" is a dream just like that... wouldn't it be happy and easy to find someone who would fulfill Your every dream and would never disagree with You about anything?! There just simply aren't such people out there, and every relationship demands hard work to be succesful. Sometimes it's just too hard work, not worth the effort.

Does anyone know if these kind of jackets (only less formal maybe) have a name?

With my limited knowledge of fashion, I believe that it would be a blazer but I could be wrong. I would usually refer to it as "Miami Vice"

Maybe the picture was a bad example, but it was the first I found.
Its a bit too formal, but what I mean is a blouse but with defined shoulders.

A blouse is for women, and its a shirt rather than a jacket.

Maybe something like this:
I mean those seems (?) at the shoulders just like a suit which give your shoulders a more square look.
