Yea Ordo, I got one but did not download it. If you look on the old site, there is a thread saying to download this file in an email. I don't think it was Matt though. Some sort of fraud. I don't know. Matt can you help us out?? :?

Not from me... somebody has hacked the old CC.
Looking into what I can do about it. Please don't download anything in emails saying they are from me, I will never send you an unsolicited email with a download in it.

I think I got two of those except it wasn't from Matt...I don't know how else someone would've gotten my email, because I only use that one for CC.
Matt

I guess it is a good reminder not to download stuff too quickly. Did anyone's virus software pick it up and deal with it?

Just out of curiousity, has the security on the old forum been lessened or something during the change? Or was there flaws in it

Oldie, mine said from MATT@CHEEKYCHERRY.COM, To MATT@CHEEKYCHERRY.com. :? That should have been enough to tell me not to click it, but I did not notice until afterwards.

What are exes usually used for?
Spike
1st April 2005, 07:29 AM
Short for executable - a program that will run and once you've set it off....... who know's what it will do.
The only thing that should attached to an email is a photo - don't open any thing else unless you're 100% sure what it is and who's it's from.

Virii .exe files can be binded to image files so I'd go one step further and NOT open ANY attachment or download anything from an email unless you are certain of the source.

But remember to open a file is more like opening a email you are somewhat safe unless you download it but anyways if your not sure delete the bastard! :cool

I have it. The only reason my PC is working correctly is because I restored my PC. But, Norton didn't detect any viruses.

That is pretty worrying. So as others have said, be caureful of the attachements you get in emails.

Well here I am.... the jackass that opened the fucking file. And downloaded the virus that crashed my computer. It took about fifteen minutes after my previous post before it started to fuck me over but it did and it took me the last 2 hours to restore my computer.
Works like this, the virus gets into your boot system and restarts your computer. When your computer gets to the point where it is going to start running the processes it starts it again, and again, and again forever. You never get to run a virus scan because your computer never finishes opening. I had to run all of my restore discs. fuck!!!!

Damn!! that fucking sucks dude.. :cool
like i said before i did try to download it but my protection would not let me so thanks to Firefox and my virus protection which is 'VCatch' and get this i only have the basic protection they do have and up grade that cost more money oh and the version i have is 'Free' Comcast.net told me about it..
if you would like to get the free version here is the link.. :)
http://www.minutegroup.com/prodpg_vcatch.htm scroll down to you see the 2 downloads 1 is free and thee other is 24.95 so click on the 'Free' version if you want it.
And the good thing about this one is you do not have to do a virus scan it automatically does it for you all the time and you can also choose where you would like it to do with the virus you can click on auto delete or you can click on send it to recycle ben/trash ben. :cool

Bill, you may have been able to restore it by just 2 weeks or so. That is what I did. As soon as windows starting loading I went to windows restore, even if it didn't open it up yet- I clicked it anyway.
