It could be overtraining. How often do you train a week? How well do you eat and sleep?

It is well documented that humans should sleep between 7-8hrs a day and many believe it is closer to 8 hrs a day.
You can get a flu shot every year to prevent you from getting the flu virus. Besides that, you can just take antibiotics when you get sick. They kill everything. And it is VERY HARD to get a tolerance to them. Ask your doctor ofcourse.

Well I really don't think it is possible to not get a cold a lot of times. Every time you get a cold you can never get that one cold again due to memory cells in your body that create the antibody for that cold. But there are over 200 variations and strains of the cold so untill you get them all you are in for it.
Another interesting thing I learned in anatomy and physiology when you get a fever it is best to not take asprin right away. Like if it is 99-101 it is the body's natural reaction to try to kill viruses and cells because they like things 98.6 and very close to that and the up in temperature is actually killing them but often times people reduce the fever too fast for it to do them any good.
Also the easiest way to not get sick is to wash your hands, all the time after and before everything you do.

Taking antibiotics is just plain silly if unneeded. Haven't you heard of bacterial resistance?

200 strains + huh, im sure ive been sick about a hundred times in my life almost there and ill have them all lol. Washing your hands, does that really do anything.
And what are your thoughts on Echinacea and Vitamin C

From what I have read (a long time ago so it may have already been disproven) the body can slowly adapt to antibiotics but then all you do is increase the dosage.
Own is complaining of being sick constantly and is saying that herbal remedies aren't doing the job. I think in general antibiotics should be used when you are sure that they are effectively treating you. I am guessing from what ownd has said that there is atleast one ailment he suffers that can be treated by antibiotics if he wants a quick fix (so that he can train).
But as always, only a doctor should advise on the treatment of any medical condition.

Whenever you drop food on the floor, pick it up and eat it.
You'll get super strong to all the bugs.

As for the point of this thread, I'd say that definitely sounds like overtraining to me. You need to be getting way more sleep each night. I know only sleeping 6 hours a night would kill me over the space of even a week and that's without doing any exercise at all. You should consider cutting out one of your classes or other cardio sessions too. There's no point to doing so much as you'll probably end up performing worse than if you had done lighter preparation but had more time to recover.

That is all wrong sadly. Antibiotics are for bacteria, if he has a virus you can't take anything for that. As for the body adapting and increasing the dosage, the immune system doesn't work that way. The problem with antibiotics is not only that your body becomes accustomed to them, the bacteria become resistant if you don't kill them all off. This is why when you get prescribed any antibiotic, you are supposed to use them for usually at least two weeks to make sure you kill them all. If you are taking Kflex or something(old street name, can't remember the technical term) you can't just increase the dosage. That would probably kill you, people have a very very bad perception that they are curealls, and really should be avoided whenever possible.
Ownd is overtraining plain and simple. He needs to be getting 8 solid hours of sleep every night for what he is trying to do. Sleep more and he will be much healthier. I do not get nearly enough sleep, and it is killing my weight lifting. I have pleatued out badly, and my diet is good, routine is good, motivation, etc but my sleep is lacking. I can't change that with school this way, but it is the problem.

Ok, I'm gonna solve all your problems right now.
In addition to plenty of sleep and doing your BEST to reduce anything causing stress in your life, (which is nearly impossible) obviously vitamins will help. NAtural sources are best.
Do not take antibiotics. As it has been said, there is no need and unforunately our whole damn modern scoiety is developing resistence to them as we evolve and eat bad foods and shit like that.
Here is the one thing you should do everyday:
DRINK GREEN TEA WITH HONEY! At least 1 cup a day if not more.
I used to be sick all the damn time, but since I started drinking Green Tea, I haven't felt the least bit sick. i made it through the worst of the flu season and didn't ever feel anything wrong-and I was surrounded by extremely sick people all day. This usually means disaster for me.
Green tea is extremely good for you and not only boosts your immune system, but is an antioxident and will keep you young forever and ever.....until you die.

Hugh g is right about the bacteria and anti biotics!! Unless you're really reaaly sick you should refrain from taking them!
The other area where lots and lots of bacteria are found is at the gym! One of the most recent suprising finds at the gym is a bacteria called MRSA... google it. This one keeps you down for some time and can even kill young, old and those with compromised immune systems because there is no antibiotic on the market that will kill it! Vancomycin might get rid of it but then there is the Vancomycin resistant organism to worry about (VRE). For the rest of us MRSA depleats our immune systems making us suceptible to everything, thus, you are sick for much longer! VRE is another viral based drug resistant bug... Health Proffessionals like to think this one is restricted to hospitals but I highly doubt it. You need much more rest than usual (or than you're used to) to help your body overcome these horrible little creatures!! Nothing can kill VRE that I have heard of yet. Maybe time.
Rest well.

Green tea does taste horrible by itself.
However, You can get it in many different ways.
The store bought stuff is just fine as long as the main ingredient is real Green Tea. IT ALSO CAN BE PURCHASED DECAFFINATED...
I personally buy flavored green tea because it tastes horrid alone. I found that the best flavored blend is the Chai Green Tea. Tastes fantatsic. Add a little honey, and voila.
In addition, Buying honey that is produced locally has been shown to boost the immune system too. Or, more precisely, eating honey made in your area assists in your "homeostasis' with your local environment. I assume this has to do with the pollens and other microbial transients that are processed in honeymaking by the Bees.
Hope this stuff boosts your health.
PS. I don't know about that Arizona brand. May have a lot of added crap you don't need. and I imagine the bagged tea is better for you, but i couldn't save for sure.
