Based on my genetics from both my mothers and fathers side where they live to be very old, I think I have a good chance to get near 100 if some weird sickness won't get me earlier.

ArTee63
23rd October 2005, 12:11 PM
100 would be OK granted you still have your mental and physical capacities. Who would want a sharp mind and no body? Or vise-versa?

The Big Banana
23rd October 2005, 12:14 PM
I would rather be mentally and physically healthy until 80 and drop dead on the spot, than live to 100 in pain, ill health, and/ or having gone senile. Knowing my luck i'll get to 60 with all of those problems and more.

True, but fortunately my grandparents still have both... well, my grandfather died at 88 because he lost one of his lungs in war and pneumonia took him (with both lungs he would have survived), but he was still on his own feet and his mind and memory were sharper than mine.

I'd like to get there. Me and my mates all drive Ferarri's, Lamborghini's and Porsche's - rent chalets in Avoriaz for snowboarding and have girlfreinds in their late 20's.

How's that compare to being 20?

50 today is not like being 50, 50 years ago.

Valk

I would mind dropping dead at my 40th birthday, if those 40 years were mindblowing. Remember, its the quality that counts, not quantity.

Thats because normally you think you have all the time in the world, so you procrastinate. But if you live your life a bit more intense, you would get more things done. (I know I'm a hypocrite)

Superbeast
23rd October 2005, 02:14 PM
Well you do only live once, Id rather have 40 years of hard pumpin fun then 100 years of boring stuff. Although alcohol and stuff isnt needed for a good time.

Spike

ArTee63
23rd October 2005, 03:18 PM
Continue drinking like you are now and 30 will be either too late (liver damage beyond repair) or you'll be dead.

Careful, young buck.

Superbeast
23rd October 2005, 03:27 PM
Ill steal someones precious liver when that happens

In the next few years ill probably just have the odd few beers after work. Binge drinking isnt really that fun. Well its fun when your just had enough to be a bit drunk but then things start going stupid.

Valk

One can get used to alcohol. After the army when I was about 20-24 I was hanging around a group that was, well... maybe a bit bad company to me. We had a clubhouse (well, they still do) where we had everything: two pool tables, two fridges full of beer, great stereo system, big screen TV, cozy sofas and so on and so on... it was on a basement of an apartment building in the center of Helsinki with shops on the first floor between us and the residents so no matter how much noise we made nobody ever called the police. There were about 20 guys in that club and we had very strict rules of who we could take there, but beautiful chicks were always welcome of course!

Oh, sorry... to the point. Well, as You can imagine, I spent several nights there every week, shooting pool with the guys and entertaining the chicks... so I did drink alot of alcohol back then. I could swallow a whole bottle (half litre) of vodka + a few bottles of beer and I was still walking straight! Of course I was drunk but not so much that I wouldn't have remembered it the next morning. Now my life has been a lot healthier and I definately can't drink that much anymore, it would level me for sure! Well, I did drink two bottles of red wine last night but it took me several hours to finish them and I wasn't too drunk (but drunk enough to write sentimental bs here... :x). Hmm... what was I saying? Oh, yes... one can get used to alcohol and can drink more with enough practice, but of course it's not recommended.

Valk
23rd October 2005, 06:07 PM
Please drink some wine tonight. Sometimes it gets quiet around here.

Bobo
23rd October 2005, 06:09 PM
I do have a nice bottle of chianti waiting for me in the kitchen... and I took a day off work and don't need to go there until tuesday... but I already finished two bottles yesterday and I think I've had enough for one weekend. So no sentimental bs tonight, Valkie!

Valk

:x :x Can’t you reconsider it? We need some entertainment!

So yesterday evening after you opened up, I got myself some Scotch, ready to have a real man to man talk, and then you were gone! Probably drewling all over your couch or something.

I had a bottle of Pinot Grigio the other day. I love the wine from "la provincia di Trento". Typical venetian style.
