Is a load of shit. I still don't know how to use it, but what's more worrying is how I think some people may feel about it. What do you guys think? Be honest... Good thing? Bad thing? Undecided?

Damn, just when I'm really collecting them, he blows it off. :x :x
But you're right. Its a load of shit. Just like those "vote for your favorite member"-polls in the old forum. I dont really see the benifit of those things.
We're a bunch of weird friends, isnt that good enough? Why do have to rate eachother? :?

I know how to give a rep point, but I dont know what it is used for.
So, I don't really care of the outcome. :?

I agree Valk.
I'm all for scrapping it unless a good few guys think it should stay. I mean, it's a nice gimic, but I don't think it holds any value and could hurt feelings rather than help nurture them.

I know how to give points, I know how to view my own reputation points. Apart from that, are there anymore features.
Go get that 3" thick leather bound manual, Matt. :D

Yeah, you can view the points you got, and from which thread you got them, in your control panel.

Go to the sticky post named "Welcome to the new CC"
and post the link to your old profile.

I don't think anyone is likely to object if you were to get rid of it...

honestly, it doesnt matter to me either way. No sense in taking the time to get rid of it, but not really worth having either...

Matt, simple solution. Just create a poll.
Matt
23rd March 2005, 09:19 PM
Good idea... I should say, I don't particularly want to get rid of it, or leave it, I just want what's best. And you guys decide what's best.

Why do have to rate each other? :?
Judge Smails: Ty, what did you shoot today?
Ty Webb: Oh, Judge, I don't keep score.
Judge Smails: Then how do you measure yourself with other golfers?
Ty Webb: By height.
I agree...bag 'em.

Don't give a shit though it is cool to see the bars under your name. Though in the long run it seems like it might just be another thing which could get abused or cause problems on the software level. I vote "I don't give a shit"

I don't see any reason to keep it.
Word will get around if you've been bad or good.

Why not just leave it and if at some point it does create problems, can it?

In my opinion it's useless, and negative votes may cause some bad blood. Doesn't really bother me, but just for the record: I voted "no".

Can you give negative rep?
I only seem to get the option of giving positive rep when I try, not that I'd bother with negative rep though as it just seems a bit childish.

Are the No's STRONG no's? Or weak ones? And vice versa with the Yes'?
ArTee63

I don't pay much attention to it so my yes (for bagging them) is kind of down the middle.

If those against it are really emphatic...they can easily get their way by neg-repping everybody until someone cracks.

My "no" isn't too strong, I don't really care if the rep-thingy stays or not... I don't need it, but won't cry if it stays either.

I voted I don't give a shit. I think if you visit the boards enough, you get a pretty good idea of who has strong reputations and gets much respect. So I guess I should've voted to lose the points.

Ok fuck it, we'll leave it then, until somebody actually moans about it then we'll review it.

How many rep votes do you have to get before your bar goes up a little bit?

I just voted no. The points are too vague. Do you get tonnes for just having lots of posts? If so, the post count tells us that already.

I voted no as well. I don't see how reputation points will encourage people here, who already have motivation, to participate.

That seems the best way to do it. I dont like or hate it. I dont even notice it much. I dont know how someone could get their feelings hurt because someone has a few little green bars under their name and they only have a couple

Iva had some green rep points given to me but also a red one and a blue one. What the hell do they mean? i thought you can only give good and bad :?
